Guest Post: Coins For Change Gone Wrong

I hadn't planned on posting another guest blog so early after the last one, but I felt this post by Brookelas was one worth making an exception for.  Expect lots more from me in 2015!  - Chillin43

Hey readers of Chillin's amazing blog! It's Brookelas here with a very controversial topic... Was Coins For Change 2014 rigged?

Review: Merry Walrus Party 2014

Doesn't adding "Merry" back into the title deem changing this franchise into the Holiday Party years back pointless?

Guest Blog: Early Review of "We Wish You a Merry Walrus!"

If you, like me, are waiting for We Wish You a Merry Walrus to air in your country, you'll probably find this early review by Squidy2008/Tweety interesting.  My review of the special will be out later this week. - Chillin43

Review: Pirate Party 2014

I missed out on experiencing the last "original" Pirate Party by just a few months, though I always hoped it would return.  Did it live up to the hype or is it as boring as everything else?

Looking Ahead: 2015 Edition

I'll be frank: I don't get as excited about Club Penguin as I used to.  However, I still find it exciting to find out what CP's next party is......even to the point where the announcement is more enjoyable than the actual event.  So, here's my (probably very wrong) party slate prediction for 2015.

Review: 9th Anniversary Party

Back in my early Club Penguin days, I would stare out the window on long car rides and imagine the future of the site.  During those times, one subject always came back to me: the upcoming Anniversary Party.

Despite its lack of a grand scale, the Anniversary Party was always one I looked forward to.  The fabled rare hats were a major reason.  What were the colors going to be this year?  Would there be a puzzle to find them?  However, above that was the hope that one of my biggest wishes for the site would come true; that finally, this year, Club Penguin would expand the party into an island wide event.  Wouldn't that be great?!

Little did I know, that the content I was getting back then wasn't the start of something bigger.....it was the peak before the downhill slide.

School Shift

Modern Club Penguin has many marks that carry over from party to party, but one of the most prominent ones is the zany, colorful variety of the themes we get to see each month.  Every party from 2014 up until now has featured a new art style that doesn't fit in with regular Club Penguin.

So, one of the reasons the School and Skate Party was so refreshing was that everything fit in perfectly with rooms that didn't have any decorations.

Because of this - and the fact that Club Penguin has started to quietly sneak in new permanent room designs with parties more and more frequently - I have to ask: is the Skatepark the only thing from the current party that's here to stay?

Review: School and Skate Party

In any year, the idea of a school party would probably be called out for obvious reasons.  However, with a release date this year, the idea was a huge risk, with fans already assuming that the final product would be very flawed.  But were they right or does 2014 still have something to prove?

The Problem With Club Penguin

2014 has been a horrible year for new Club Penguin content; that's been agreed on by basically everyone.  And, while there are many, many individual issues that you could point out - which have been stated numerous times by many different people - I think every single issue comes back to a single, large problem.

Review: Frozen Party

While I'm not a gigantic fan of Frozen, I was nonetheless excited when it was announced that Club Penguin planned to make a party based on the movie.  Coming off of the dreadful Music Jam, did it manage to finally get out of the 2014 slump?

Review: Turbo Race 3000

After the first two mini-events of 2014 proved to be some of the best additions to Club Penguin this year, can the team keep the momentum going?

"Plane" Strange

Earlier this month a takeover featuring characters from Disney's second Planes movie was confirmed.....but not for Club Penguin, Disney's only remaining virtual world.

No, there was a Planes takeover on Bin Weevils.....the direct competitor of Club Penguin.

What's up with that?

Review: SoundStudio

While Music Jam 2014 is quite possibly the most panned party of all time, SoundStudio has been pretty well liked; in fact, it may be the only thing that people have actually enjoyed from the party.  But do I agree?

Review: Best Day Ever

It's been nearly a year since the last Club Penguin song.  Is it even worth revisiting this element of Club Penguin at this point?

Takeover Terror

What has Club Penguin done wrong when it comes to takeovers and how are they actually decided on?

As the Curtains Close

Recently, Polo Field stated that there probably wouldn't be anymore new stage plays because no one uses the Stage anymore.  Last month's Stage catalog update seemed to reinforce this thought, as Club Penguin put costumes from all of the stage plays they plan to continue to show into one single space.

However, there is no reason why the Stage can't continue on.  And, fixing the Stage could also fix another big problem.

Review: Prom 2014

With the first mini-party being the best party of the year, in my opinion, against all odds, how does this followup fair?

Review: Future Party

2014 has been arguably one of the most disappointing years for parties ever.  But, could the Future Party turn that around?

Apprehensive

Polo Field recently stated that the team has been working on a brand new app.  But, I'm a bit skeptical.

Welcome to Club Penguin Thoughts!

On Friday, May 23, I renamed Club Penguin Perspective and changed the URL.  However, all did not go to plan.

My original plan was to use the URL club-penguin-thoughts.blogspot.com, but, due to some issues, I had to settle on the URL you are at right now, clubpenguin-thoughts.blogspot.com.  Because of this, if you visit my planned link, you will find a ghost blog that will redirect you back here.

Additionally, just today, I opened up a back-up blog under the original link to this site, clubpenguinperspective.blogspot.com.  If you go there, you will again find a link to come back here.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused!  I hope that everyone who used to read my blog can find their way here!

New posts will return to this blog and my other one, clubpenguinbookroom.blogspot.com, starting this week.  Stay tuned!

For now, let me hand things over to Ellen DeGeneres.

Name Change

One does not simply write an intro or find pictures for these kinds of posts.

So Long, Star Wars?

The Star Wars Takeover of 2013 goes down as one of my favorite parties ever and I really do hope that it makes a return this year.  But, could just a few little details mean no return this year?

Review: Funny Hat Week

Does Club Penguin recapture the magic of their classic parties with this interesting new style of parties?

Review: Club Penguin App Update 1.4

Hype has been a constant killer of enjoyment in the past few months on Club Penguin.

"The team did such a great job with dinosaur puffles!"

"The Fair 2014 is the best party ever!"

"You're going to love this Muppet Theater!"

"Let me tell you, you DO NOT want to miss the Puffle Gala!"

So, what happens when you hype the launch of an app on a new device for almost an entire year?

You end up disappointed.

Review: Puffle Party 2014

Ever heard of the phrase "the bane of my existence?"  Well, yeah, after the constant updates to puffles, they have become the bane of my Club Penguin existence.  Because of this, and the fact that the Puffle Party last year ended up being crowned the worst party of the year in my year in review series, this party had a lot to prove.  Did it?

Review: Muppet World Tour

I have always liked the Muppets, and, so, when it was first announced that a party based on the property would come to Club Penguin, I was rather excited.  But, was it all worth the hype?

A Time Travesty

Now, I know Club Penguin doesn't intend for their plots to be thought about too hard, but the Prehistoric Party's simple plot raises a lot of questions that will never be answered.  So, join me as I overthink a plot that is designed to be basic enough for six year olds.

Looking Ahead: 2014 Edition

As we enter a new year, I will now predict how I think this year will pan out - and will probably fail miserably.
