Review: Prom 2014

With the first mini-party being the best party of the year, in my opinion, against all odds, how does this followup fair?

As you probably know if you are bothering to read this, there were two rooms decorated for this party: the Mine and the School.  The former was a bit light on decorations.  While the limo and the carpet were both nice additions, I feel that the exterior of the school could have been decorated more.  Of course, I'm not asking for a complete makeover: just for a few more details to look at.

The School, the main room, was great.  Its makeover was major enough that it would feel right at home at a full-blown Club Penguin party.  The details in this room were quite nice and the opportunities for photos did not go unnoticed.

The two items are both nice.  The background is one of the better items of its kind in recent memory and I'm glad the hat was a new item and not an old one that many people would have.  As several people have pointed out, there should have been a purple robe to accompany the hat, though, I don't know how high you can set the bar for a party that nonmembers have full access to.

The ambiance outside of the School was nice.  However, the blend of old music inside the main building was spectacular.  It proves that not everything has to try and be a grand gesture to be nice.

And that's about it.  This party, in all its simplicity, shows that Silly Hat Week was not a fluke.  Trying to be grand - and being so sure of yourself that you constantly hype it up - doesn't always mean you'll get a good result, and I hope Club Penguin continues to create these little gems for a long, long time.

As Billybob would say, Waddle On!

  1. I think the prom was a stupid idea, because CP doesn't enforce the "This is a game for kids, not farmersonly.com dating!". I think it encourages the dating stereotype that everyone kind of hates as it has been on the news before and makes CP look like a place for people who enjoy being a pedophile like to hang out in.

    1. I considered talking about the dating implications, but I spent a lot of time around the prom on popular servers and I never saw anything that wasn't harmless.
