As the Curtains Close

Recently, Polo Field stated that there probably wouldn't be anymore new stage plays because no one uses the Stage anymore.  Last month's Stage catalog update seemed to reinforce this thought, as Club Penguin put costumes from all of the stage plays they plan to continue to show into one single space.

However, there is no reason why the Stage can't continue on.  And, fixing the Stage could also fix another big problem.

As many people pointed out after Polo sent out the tweet, the reason people don't use the Stage is because there is no new content.  This is very true: back in the day, the Stage was swarming with people on the day a new play was released.  Now, the place is empty on update day, even if the server you are on is near capacity.

Fixing this problem would be easy: if Club Penguin doesn't feel they have anymore stories to tell or characters to create, they could instead borrow from the treasure trove of content that is the Disney archives.

For you takeover haters: hear me out; this will benefit you as well.

Think about it: takeovers are simultaneously the most loved and hated things in recent Club Penguin history.  There are the fans of the properties who absolutely love the parties, some of whom join the site just to be apart of them.  Then, there are the people who feel they are just ads and a lazy way to get new ideas.

It would be tremendously beneficial for Club Penguin to stop having full takeover parties and instead make plays based on Disney content.  In this way, Club Penguin could make a small set with little references to the movies, a script, outlining a particularly popular scene or a shortened, simple version of the plot, and several items based on characters and objects from the story to put in the Stage catalog.  This way, Club Penguin wouldn't isolate those who dislike the franchise or who only like original Club Penguin content with an island-wide event where they couldn't escape the property.  The team would also save tremendous time and would be able to transfer more Disney content into the game quicker.  And, with Disney's vast library of material, they wouldn't run out of franchises to transfer at any point in the near future.

These plays based on Disney characters would attract a large amount of new users and would make the Stage a hotspot, like it was in the past.  There really is no losing with this plan.

So, who wants a Frozen play?

As Billybob would say, Waddle On!

  1. I really like your ideas, it's genius! This way we could always have original parties while still having new plays and stuff. It just bugs me that they won't make new plays, when that would FIX the problem.
