A "Fair" Question

Sure, we aren't even through July's party and we know very little about August's, but we already have a clue for the September party.

And it could change everything...

A few days ago, Polo Field, while taking a few days off from the Club Penguin Office, held a special event on Twitter where you could ask him anything you wanted to through the hashtag #PoloQuestions.  While doing this he answered a variety of questions.  He answered the question we all wanted to know - "Are you a turnip?"  He answered my question (Thanks, Polo!) - "Who's your favorite mascot?"  And, among others, he also responded to a question about what the September party would be.

In the response he said:

"I'll give you a hint: '____ Party.'  #PoloQuestions"

So, what party is it?  Is it a new party?  Is it a returning one?

Well, I personally believe it's a party we've seen before.  My reasoning?  Well, he probably wouldn't say "____ Party" if we hadn't already had that party before.  Additionally,  he responded to another tweet after he finished his #PoloQuestions session.  In this tweet, he said that a classic party would be returning to Club Penguin this year but that he couldn't reveal which one it was or when it was coming.  I believe he's referring to September, although I could be wrong.

But, if I'm right and it's a returning party, which one will it be?  Well, here's a list of all of the parties from 2012 that have party in the title (I've removed the ones we've already had this year or that pertain to holidays not in or close to September):

- Medieval Party
- Adventure Party

Going from those two possibilities, I believe the Adventure Party will not be coming to Club Penguin again, at least not in the near future (A.K.A. this year).  Why?  Well, August's Summer Jam/Teen Beach Movie Party is filling the void of the Summer Party, Water Party, Music Jam, and, I believe, the Adventure Party.  The Adventure Party is summer-themed after all.

So, that leaves the Medieval Party.  And there's actually evidence that suggests it is returning.

From 2008 to 2012, the Medieval Party enchanted us in the month of May.  However, this year, it was bumped off its May pedestal by the Card-Jitsu Snow Party - another great event.  It was after this that Spike Hike gave a hint, both in a comment on the What's New Blog and in a Tweet on his Twitter account, that the Medieval Party could return.  He was very vague about, saying only that he didn't confirm it wasn't coming back.  It wasn't a yes answer, but it was hope for all those who hope to wield a slingshot against an evil force once again.

There have been rumors that the Medieval Party is going to find a new home in November, a month that, as of now, has never housed the same party two years in a row.  However, I think September is a fitting month for it as well.  I'd love to see it return in any month.

So, now that I have predicted that the Medieval Party will be coming in September, I have to deal with the other side of the spectrum: the possible removal of the Fair.

Polo's answer doesn't leave much room for the possibility of the Fair coming back.  Since its debut in 2007, this party has gone by two names: The Fall Fair and The Fair.  Unless its name is changed once again or if Polo was just thinking of it as the "Fair Party," it probably won't be returning this year (which, I have to admit, makes me sad).

If The Fair doesn't return, I might say that it fell under the "party curse."  This "party curse" (which I just made up, by the way) is pretty simple to explain.  This year, we've lost three traditional parties (if you don't count the Medieval Party which, as I said, I believe will return and the parties that are being rolled into one like the Music/Ultimate Jam) - the April Fools Party, the Earth Day Party, and the Easter Egg Hunt.  While all of those parties are real-world holidays (which might be a reason why they were removed), the former two have something in common with The Fair as well - 2012 saw the smallest or least-updated event of their kind ever.  These two recurring elements, that may cause events to be cancelled, are apart of the "party curse."  Could the party curse be why The Fair might not be returning?

But, finally, is there any hope for The Fair?  Well, that's anyone's guess.  If it doesn't return in September, it could return in a later year or it could come back in 2013 in the only month where I believe it has the possibility of finding a home - November.  And, as far as that last suggestion is concerned (or the other one, if it is its only hope), boy, do I hope it does.
