Not So Golden

The golden puffle is coming.

And with it, there will be some problems.

Some irreversible problems.

Golden puffles have been one of the biggest rumors of the Club Penguin fan base for years.  So, when it was recently announced that they were real, I felt a little excited, a little shocked, and a little....worried.

This move is kind of bold.  With it, there is no turning back from the problems I foresee.

First off, this almost certainly takes away any possibility of a lavender or tan puffle.  Why?  Well, these two most recently revealed puffles - the rainbow and the golden ones - are much more grand than the previous ones.  Going back to a regular colored one would just feel underwhelming.  Thus, I believe this could be the final puffle we will ever see.

Then there's another problem that the production employees at the Stage won't quite like: this discovery most likely puts an end to The Quest For the Golden Puffle.  This play was created in part to play off of fan theories.  The plot line is irrelevant now that the puffle has been found - even if the puffle in the play is really just a statue.  The play, in Club Penguin's usual synergy style, is returning this month to coincide with the discovery event.  I think this showing of the production could very well be the curtain call for this play.

This is really a bad deal because this play seems to be the most popular one in Club Penguin.  It's brought back ALL THE TIME (can we get the original Space Adventure, please?).  It floored the competition at the two Penguin Play Awards, winning almost every single award.

The only way I could see this returning is if (*gasp*) the Stage employees actually create or update a play.  I've always felt that Stage characters are so underused.  Alaska and Yukon have so much potential as far as sequels are concerned.  They're explorers, for puffles' sake!  They can take us new places!  They could create a will-they/won't-they relationship (much to the chagrin of the smaller Club Penguin players, still convinced cooties are ready to gobble them up at a moments notice)!  There could be a prequel with the King Ra-Ra and Boris!

Or, if they really don't want to do much, they could change the artifact, the name, the logo, and some of the artwork and call it a day.

And then just not update the Stage with new material for another three years or so.

(*crickets chirp*)

And then there are the fans.  The fans who like their rumors.  Who are protective of their rumors.  Who do not want the light of day on their rumors.

What will they do when you can adopt one?

A whole new phase is about to begin.  Are you ready?

As Billybob would say, Waddle On!

  1. Nice theories! While having a Gold Puffle would be nice, I honestly think this particular puffle should've stayed a myth. We already got the Rainbow Puffle, isn't that enough?

We need new plays! They have no excuse because it's not like they're working on server jumping. Who are the real noobs here?
