Infinite Instances

*The subject of this post was suggested by PufflePal26.  Thanks a bunch!  See the other post he suggested here.

Club Penguin recently revealed that they would rebooting their merchandising system in the near future.  At the same time, Twitter has been ablaze with fans asking for a Club Penguin add-on to the popular new video game Disney Infinity.  A Twitter petition was even created to try and persuade the mouse house to allow our virtual world onto the new game.

So, my question is: will it happen?  And if so, when and how?

Let's start will the "will" to live part of it.  The answer?  All signs considered, I think there's strong hope.

Why?  Well, these campaigning tweets have not gone unnoticed by the big wigs who could make it happen.  The official Disney Infinity Twitter account has replied to many fans saying, in several different variations, "perhaps."  The people man this Twitter account seem to know about Club Penguin, referencing different aspects of the world, such as #WaddleOn.  I believe these people were prepped for these types of questions from Club Penguin fans, but that's pure speculation.

A domino effect seemed to happen with this: the official, verified Club Penguin Twitter account favorited one of the many responses that the Disney Infinity Twitter Team sent to fans.

And then, after that, Spike Hike sent a direct message to fans, giving us the biggest gold mine on this topic.  He said that the more we ask, the more likely it will happen.  This shows that the possibility is very real and that Club Penguin is willing to set things in motion.

So that that's out of the way: when will this happen?

Well, I think that a Club Penguin Disney Infinity figure line/ play set is far off.  Why?  Well, for one thing, these things take awhile to make.  When Disney Infinity was first announced, it was said that it took about two years to build the first phase of the game.  The game's release was delayed from July to August this year, which may have indicated more time was needed to complete it.

My other reason for this is that, as popular as Club Penguin is, a lot of people probably don't realize it has something to do with Disney.  I'm talking about the casual, thirty year old Disney fan here.  This means that big franchises - think movie and TV shows - get the top billing.  Huge ones, like Toy Story and Mickey Mouse aren't even out yet.  And need you not forget Disney owns Marvel and Star Wars.  I have a feeling those guys will make their way in, too.  It could be awhile.

Last question: how?

It's bit to a big of a spectrum to guess what characters would be included and what you could do in the play set.  However, my question with how is: how will the characters look?

You see, Disney Infinity has changed the way the classic Disney characters look.  In figure and avatar form, they take on a 3D look, with vibrant colors.

Now this is a bit problematic.  If the changes in Club Penguin design over the years have taught us anything, it's that Club Penguin players don't like it when characters look different from how we are used to them.  The same might go for the figures and avatars for Disney Infinity.  However, I think our characters would get a facelift to match Disney Infinity's style, should they enter the game at some point.

So, how can YOU make Club Penguin on Disney Infinity a reality?  Well, as Spike said, keep asking!  Tweet Club Penguin, post on their Facebook page, send fan mail!  Another thing you could do is sign the recently created Twitition.  You can find it here.  Go vote now!!

If we're lucky, maybe we'll be able to play as a real Club Penguin character - not just your avatar or your puffle - for the first time ever through Disney Infinity.  I sure hope this comes to the real world.  Because, you know, the world can never have too much Club Penguin.

As Billybob would say, Waddle On!
