Pixar's Next Appearance

With the Monsters University Takeover up and running, what will Pixar's role in Club Penguin be in the future?  And could it give new hope to older Club Penguin ideas?

First up is the question: will the Monsters University Takeover return?  Well, while players' reception to the party has been favorable and it has been referred to as the first ever Scare Games (implying it will continue in future years), there is the problem that Monsters University will not always be the most relevant thing for Pixar.  They'll want to focus a bit more on their future films.

The only time that its return seems plausible is around November when the film would hit store shelves and is once again being talked about a lot more than usual.  But, since Club Penguin probably wouldn't feature it for a second time in one year, I don't see the probability of that being very high (also, the Medieval Party is rumored to be returning in November, so it's probably improbable).

So, I think that, rather unfortunately, this party has a higher chance of being a "one and done" event than other celebrations.  If the party proves big enough then it could return.  I sure hope it does come back.

Then question number two comes into play: could another party, based on another Pixar movie, replace or coexist with the Monsters University Takeover?  To start off, you need to look at Pixar's upcoming films:

- Planes (made by Disney Toons Studios but based on the Pixar property Cars and developed by some Pixar employees): August 9, 2013
- The Good Dinosaur: May 30, 2014
- Planes 2: Fire and Rescue (see note on Planes): July 18, 2014
- Inside Out: June 19, 2015
- Finding Dory ("Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!"): November 25, 2015
- Untitled film based on Mexican holiday Day of the Dead: June 17, 2016
- Untitled films: June 16, 2017; November 22, 2017; June 15, 2018*
- Planes 3 (see note on Planes): TBA

*Disney president Bob Iger recently implied that another Pixar sequel is in the works, so one of these release dates could be for that.  Also, Pixar has said it will try to release at least one original film each year with a sequel every other year which gives more stock to this.

So, could all of these movies get a tie in party?  Well, while there is no way to know for sure, there may be little tid-bits to support the possibility.

First off is a leaked picture of a lodge at what is believed to be the Dock.  With the flag to show wind direction and the plane itself, could it serve as a room for a Planes party?  Sure, August 2013's party seems to be a summer/music party with characters from Disney Channel's Teen Beach Movie, but September is up in the air.  And it could come for the sequels.

Then comes hope for older parties being brought back with a new light.  For The Good Dinosaur, could a prehistoric party serve its purpose?  And for Finding Dory, an underwater party?  As for the Day of the Dead movie, could a winter fiesta suffice?

The Club Penguin Team may know the answers to some of these questions.  Some may be too far off for them to think about.  One thing I do believe is that Pixar would have involvement in the creation of further parties (aside from possibly the Planes parties, given they aren't strictly Pixar), should they come about.  We'll have to wait until halfway through 2018 to have complete answers.  And, won't we have more questions before that time? (Spoiler Alert: we will.)
