June 19, 2013. A Club Penguin Support employee says in an email that a Star Wars party is coming in July. Having had Marvel, Disney Channel, and Pixar takeover Club Penguin before this, many say...

Days pass with several (undeserved, in my opinion) signs of higher-than-usual dislike coming from many places. But, there is a substantial amount of support as well.

So, why should we be all right with this new endeavor and takeover parties in general? Well, Spike Hike recently took to a conversation post on Club Penguin Memories to clear the air. In part, he said...
"...On the Takeover parties, we hear you. For the record, we don’t do them for advertising purposes, we do them because we think they are awesome and will be a lot of fun and it would sort of be criminal to have access to awesome things like Star Wars and not do something with it. A large part of the audience really enjoys them and they are some of our most successful events on the last few years. Only 4 of our parties out of 12 this year have a Disney tie-in. - - - I think we have learned that we need to space these Takeover events out more and not cluster them up so much and we will definitely do that if we do Takeovers next year."

When he says that they don't do them to fiscally help the other properties, I really do believe him. Keep in mind, the Star Wars Takeover is not promoting any new movie/product for Star Wars. Club Penguin is not being told by Disney to make these parties. Rather, Disney says to them, "If you want to use these characters creatively in your game, they are at your disposal." Disney is not the bad guy here. They are not greedy. They are the helpful owner of Club Penguin who has helped and is continually helping Club Penguin be the great company it is.
I also believe him when he says that the Team wants to use these ideas - they don't want the opportunity to go to waste. It shows you how passionate they are.

Sure, you can call the use of other characters unoriginal, that C.P. needs to use its own characters, but, it all comes from the same place. The same people who made your favorite party, that made your favorite game, is behind the making of licensed events. All of the people that work at the Club Penguin Offices put the same, amazing effort into all of their projects and I commend them for it. The parties aren't outsourced to the companies that make the property its based on. They're all from the same people (although the external Disney companies do have a small part).

So, you don't like Star Wars? You don't like Marvel? You don't like Shake It Up? Just keep in mind that it's the Club Penguin Team's decision. They do their best not to isolate people who aren't fans - the whole party won't be about that product strictly. It's still Club Penguin - the site that you enjoy. It just has a twist to it.
