The Canon Conundrum: Teen Beach Movie Edition

You may recall that when the Star Wars Takeover hit our Club last month, I made a post going through all the properties Club Penguin has crossed over with and determining how their stories connect with our site.

Now it's Teen Beach Movie's turn in this spin-off post.

 This one's pretty cut and dry for the most part - Mack and Brady are real in the Club Penguin Universe - their human counterparts are not.  However, we don't know if they are natives of Club Penguin or are visitors.  I am guessing they are visiting from the same island that CeCe and Rocky did last year.  We do however know that they have the same interests and feelings as their movie counterparts.

But have the penguin versions of the characters gone through the experience seen in the movie?  Well, things start to get sticky right around here.  Now, I may be over thinking this, but it seems like some information from the party contradicts other parts as far as the timeline is concerned.

Two things seem to suggest that the penguin Mack and Brady went through the experience that the movie shows the human ones in our universe went through.  First off, the Mack on Club Penguin loves to sing.  This is a trait that the Mack in the movie does not pick up until the end of the movie.  Additionally, the song that the couple sings at Big Momma's every twenty minutes is from the end of the movie.

However, penguin Brady's profile states that he has always dreamed of being in Wet Side Story.  This implies that he and McKenzie (as penguins) never travelled to the movie.

So, how does that work out?  Well, I think that we are seeing penguin Mack and Brady after they went through the events seen in Teen Beach Movie.  The bio might be saying that Brady wants to act in a Wet Side Story remake.

As for the existence of Big Momma's and characters from Wet Side Story in costume form, I think that the Club Penguin Party Committee may have built a replica of the restaurant and created the items after hearing about Mack and Brady's experience.

 Verdict: Brady and Mack exist in the Club Penguin Canon as penguins.  They went through the same events as their human counterparts did in Teen Beach Movie.  This means that Big Momma's and the characters from Wet Side Story also exist, although strictly in an alternate reality.  The movie itself, Wet Side Story, also exists in Club Penguin.

(Oh, and before you say anything, yes, I may be slightly crazy for thinking about this so in-depth. ;p)
