One App to Rule Them All

Has Club Penguin revealed the deck of cards in their hands with one little action?  (Oh, and that title is a Lord of the Rings reference.)

Club Penguin recently announced that the My Penguin app will soon turn into the Club Penguin app.  Now, first and foremost, this is a rather peculiar switch-up.  But, I believe it could tell us something.

Remember when some stealthy bloggers figured out a Card-Jitsu app was coming out?  Remember when we found out that an outside company had worked with Club Penguin to create several apps?

Well, we can now say those apps will never happen.

Why?  Well, there's no reason to have an app called "Club Penguin" and then another app for a Club Penguin game.  The Club Penguin app will be the only app Club Penguin will have available.  They will never release an app again.

Before, it might of made sense for another app - My Penguin could have been an app to store general Club Penguin stuff and a few small games.  Other apps could hold bigger games.  But this name change will not allow this to happen.

If I'm right, this could explain Spike Hike's tweet from about a year ago that denied the existence of a Card-Jitsu app, when there was hard-evidence that suggested it was real.  Spike could have merely meant there would be no app strictly for it.

Whether the games will find their way onto the Club Penguin app.....that's another story.  If these games are just sitting around, you'd think they would release them.  However, Club Penguin seems to be focused on getting rooms into the app.  This could mean it could be awhile before these games see the light of day.

We may never know what happened to these extra apps.  They could be a silent victim of the chopping room floor.  Let's just hope the mystery is finally solved.
