Review: My Penguin

After waiting and waiting My Penguin is on the App Store!  But, does it live up to the hype?

Design:
My Penguin has a great design (unintentional irony apology here).  All of the ported games look great on iPad - some have even been altered slightly, keeping the look interesting.  All of the features of the app have sleek designs meaning there really isn't anything to complain about.

Loading Times:
The app does not take very long to download - nor do the over-the-air downloadable mini-games.  And other loading times are very fast - the app is much more responsive than most.  However, there is one very little bug.  Very occasionally, when you are playing any of the mini-games, the game will freeze for a few seconds.  It's the only side I can see.

Sound:
There isn't a lot to say here.  Ported games have great returning music and sound effects.  Sushi Smash has some new music, along with welcome sound effects, which are really nice.  I only wish there was the option for music in more places.  Maybe on the home screen, in the catalog, and other places?

Features:
Pufflescape and Puffle Rescue work great on the iPad and have updates "in the wings."  Ice Fishing is also a perfect addition, although I wish there was a way the green fishing lure and mullet could be brought in.  Puffle Roundup is really surprising in that it has been updated slightly with a new start screen and the feature of a moving pen.  It is welcome, though.

Sushi Drop is a great new game.  It's simple, but is great way to earn items and coins.

Everything else in the app is spectacular - changing clothes, shopping, reading the blog, watching videos, and switching swiftly from penguin to penguin  are all awesome things, along with all the others.

This app has ever reason to be replayed.  It's a great way to earn coins, change clothes, read the blog, and watch videos.

Final Thoughts:
While there are things I would change, My Penguin is a nearly flawless app.  And, with more features on the way, it's bound to get even better.  As Trainman1405 said a few days ago - GET THIS APP IF YOU CAN.
