Review: SoundStudio Party

The song that was made for the SoundStudio party is pretty cool and isn't repetitive.  The SoundStudio app is a fun, glitch-free way to waste time.  But the SoundStudio Party itself?  Nope, it's neither of those things.

Coming off of a glowing review for the Star Wars Rebels Takeover, it seemed like my idea that Club Penguin was on an upward trend could, actually, turn out to be true.  This next party marked the return of the Music Jam - once again unnecessarily renamed - and this time, there was not a Disney star in sight.  Sounds like fun, right?

Not so much.

I'm glad to say this party is more enjoyable than 2014's Music Jam, but I'm sorry to say that this party really isn't that good and it's all because of that darn app that keeps limiting everything.

This party is confined to three main hubs.  Within those hubs, there are four interior rooms and eight performance rooms - the latter of which I really consider as one because they all use similar templates.

Now, I understand Polo's comment that the reason there can't be as many rooms decorated is because the team has to port the rooms to the app.  I may not agree with that idea, but I understand it.  However, at least the past few parties weren't concentrated to a mere three rooms.  Sure, it didn't feel island-wide, but it was something.  And at least the last few parties were made up of almost entirely original rooms, whereas this party with eight main rooms gets five from 2013's Hollywood Party (with a lack of features from that party - like a moving Limo and award presentations - to boot).  You're starting to look very lazy again, Club Penguin.

But beyond that, the party isn't very memorable.  The rooms aren't as full of details as usual, none of the items were very exciting, the music making at Snowball Records is only mildly amusing for a while and too repetitive (though no quests and little waiting = :D), and the music is not up to what we've seen previously.  Add in a lack of Cadence and the Penguin Band in sprite form and a night sky that can't even be bothered to be added to the entire island and you've got a bland party.

Of course, there's nothing absolutely infuriating about this event, but when a hyped party is barely a mini party in size, can you really give a positive review?

...At least there wasn't a new puffle...
