Now, I know Club Penguin doesn't intend for their plots to be thought about too hard, but the Prehistoric Party's simple plot raises a lot of questions that will never be answered. So, join me as I overthink a plot that is designed to be basic enough for six year olds.
1) Why was Garugg only mentioned in a Club Penguin Times issue a few weeks before the party began? Gary implies that he followed his relative around for quite a long time at the first Prehistoric Party. Wouldn't this fact be something important enough for Gary to mention in a newspaper article during 2013's first party?
2) Gary mentions going to a volcano with Garugg during the first Prehistoric Party in that same Club Penguin Times article. The only problem is that there was no volcano in sight at 2013's party - only this year did we see one. Was it on the other side of the island that we didn't get to visit in 2013? If so, why couldn't we go there?
3) What time period was 2014's party taking place in? From the few rooms that were not changed for 2014's party (ex: The Beach), we can see that we are seeing the same part of the island as we did last year. However, several rooms have gone through some major changes, with buildings being added and the like, showing us that we did indeed skip forward a few years.
Additionally, a volcano has formed. Now, that doesn't happen over night. Scientists claim that volcanos take a few thousand years at the least to form. This creates a problem when we see that Garugg - who appeared at both parties - would have to be more than a couple thousand years old.
Now, one way to answer this is by pointing out that Club Penguin is far more of a fantasy land than we really think. As the Superhero Bounce proved at 2013's Marvel party, the planet Club Penguin is on is surrounded by several fictious planets. Physics can work differently there, I suppose.
If we are to believe that, then a volcano formed, several buildings were formed, and a handful of rooms went through major nature transformations in under a year. Plausible? Maybe in Club Penguin's world.
4) What are the odds that Garugg's message was found exactly a year after our first expedition?
5) Did Gary put fixing the Time Trekker on the back burner for a full year before finally fixing it when he knew there was need? What was he working on instead?
6) When did Garugg send Gary the message? How did he know it would be found? There could have been a building on top of the site.
7) Do other puffles exist in the Prehistoric era besides the dino ones? Did the puffles that we know today evolve from these older brethren?
8) How did the Dino Dig sites in our igloos work? We bought them before the party, so they couldn't have eggs in them already? Was dirt from the Prehistoric era put into them when the party started?
9) In the Prehistoric period, there is a shop that has an obvious parallel to the Coffee Shop. This shop sells smoothies, just as the present day Coffee Shop does. The only problem is that smoothies only came to the Coffee Shop in August 2012. That means that smoothies left the Coffee Shop for a few thousand years and then returned. Why?
10) Were caveguins influenced by our modern world when they built shops around the Prehistoric island?
11) How many caveguins live in Club Penguin in Prehistoric times? Is there a government? Does the EPF exist yet? Do they have igloos? Do they have an economy? Why didn't we see them walking around during the party?
12) Did Garugg greet every person, one-by-one?
13) This party - as well as the original - was promoted as a chance to travel millions of years into the past of Club Penguin. However, many people believe that the world is only a few thousand years old. Why was there no controversy about the decision to market the party in such a way, like there is a lot of the time when something mainstream is subjective?
As Billybob would say, Waddle On!

Don't forget too, apparently in prehistoric pizza times the Pizza Parlor existed (Rocky's Pizza), but the Pizza Parlor didn't open until 2007 and there was a party for it. Does that mean the party didn't happen now?
ReplyDeleteVery true. I meant to mention it, but I guess I forgot.
