It was just before the 8th Anniversary Party that we were officially introduced to Megg, or Bobbi, as we later learned was her real name. Since then, she has become a popular moderator on The Spoiler Alert, and the Club Penguin blog. Her #MeggTakeover has been the target of numerous jokes. She recently started Megg Monday and is quite open on Twitter, where she interacts with other penguins on a far more regular basis than other moderators (bless their hearts). But I believe we may very well be saying goodbye to her soon.
In her interview on the What's New Blog, Megg was asked how long interns usually stay at the job. Megg responded that the usual amount of time was four months, though there could be extension.
Now, knowing that Megg joined the Club Penguin Team at the latest in October, we can see that she has been at Club Penguin for at least four months. Now, while it is very true that she could have gotten an extension, there is another part of this....
Back when Megg first invaded our lives on Twitter, she said that she had a few months left with the Club Penguin Team. When did she say this? Well....a few months ago....Shouldn't time be up?

Additionally, the Megg Takeover that occurred a few weeks ago seemed to be a grand finale of sorts. After so much hype, it came with a bang and then left, leaving in its wake a surprising thing - Megg has not been tweeting as much since the festivities were completed. Could this signal that her internship has almost run its course and that she is just wrapping up her duties?
And, so, I think she will soon say goodbye.
But, she'll back, right? This isn't goodbye. It's just, "see you later," as hundreds of movies would say.
Well, this is where things get really interesting....
On the official blog, Megg stated that she would have her degree in a year. She then said that after that, she would love to come back to Club Penguin.
But, on her personal Twitter account, Megg said in a tweet (which she later deleted) that she aspired to open her own restaurant.

So, was Megg kind of sugarcoating things? Well, I think she really, genuinely likes her position at Club Penguin. Her long term dream is to own her own eatery, but, Club Penguin is a great place to be while she gets there.
Could Megg never leave at all and merely float from an internship to a full time job? Has she already and we've just not been told? That would be an interesting situation, given the fact you'd think she'd have to start at the bottom and work her way up like Polo did. Jumping immediately to the top would be very unique.
Could there be two goodbyes - one after her internship ends and she goes to finish her education and the other after she comes back and then tenders her resignation years later when her dreams of owning a restaurant come true?
These are questions that we will have to wait to get answers for. Whatever happens, it is undeniable that Megg has made an impact during her short time at Club Penguin - from the videos she has appeared in, to the memories she has created for fans.
A short moderator life, a long good-bye.....
As Billybob would say, Waddle On!

I think megg quitting will cause a lot of players to quit, but then again that is my opinion. If a lovable character is killed off from a TV show, people stop watching it.
ReplyDeleteNot necessarily, Megg has said ever since the beginning that her job was only temporary. We should all be expecting it.
DeleteI hope she sticks around/comes back. She's really awesome.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if she returned, because of how popular she's gotten in a matter of months. Plus, The Spoiler Alert just wouldn't be the same without her.
